The LCGS invites you to join us for a tour of the Max Sutherland Memorial Library located in Tatlock, Lanark County Ontario.

Max Sutherland passed away unexpectedly in 2019. He was a great historian of Darling Township, Lanark County Ontario. His spouse and family members gifted to the people of Lanark, Max’s extended genealogy and history research.

Event Speaker: Nancy Veary Jibbs will speak about the development of the Library and its holdings.


From Hwy 7 between Carleton Place and Innisville, take the Tatlock Road through the village of Clayton turning left at the store. About 15 minutes from Clayton you will pass the Church in Tatlock. The Tatlock Road takes a sharp turn to the left. DO NOT take this turn but go straight ahead on the 7th Concession of Darling. You will soon arrive at the Hall on the right just past the sports field.

From Almonte: Go straight through the town and cross County Road 29 to take Wolf Grove Road to Union Hall where you will turn right onto the Tatlock Road and follow as above. Tatlock is about a half-hour from Almonte.

From Hwy 511 to Tatlock road to Concession 7 (Tatlock Hall sign) turn left – Hall is ½ km from the corner past the sports field.
