The Upper Ottawa Valley Genealogy Group (UOVGG), is a non‑profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the family history of the Upper Ottawa Valley. Founded in 1990, the society supports genealogical research for families who live, or once lived, in Renfrew County, Ontario, and Pontiac County, Quebec, by collecting and preserving records such as census data, vital statistics, obituaries, cemetery transcriptions, and family histories.
Most recently, the organization faced challenges in continuing its work; however, under the watchful eye and steady leadership of Larry, the society has been revitalized and is once again growing, expanding its programs, strengthening member engagement, and renewing its commitment to preserving the region’s rich heritage for future generations.
